Palomino horses are among the most instantly recognizable of all breeds of horse. Their distinctive golden coat makes them stand out in any crowd, and they are equally at home in the show ring as on the back trails.

The Palomino is a color breed, what means that various breeds can be Palomino if they have the golden coat. Although there are palomino horses in virtually every breed (particularly quarter horses), the palomino also has its own unique registry, with its own registration requirements. There are even horse shows specifically for palomino horses and palomino ponies, and a show ring full of these golden beauties is a sight to behold.

The color of the palomino horse and palomino pony has quite a range, and there are palomino horses of the lightest golden blonde to the deepest darkest shades of yellow. They all have their own unique beauty and style, and the palomino continues to be a favorite with all horse enthusiasts.
