The Paso Fino
The paso fino is one of the most elegant, and most refined of all horses, and its smooth rhythmic gaits make it a perfect choice for the working cowboy, the horse show enthusiast and the casual trail rider alike. This horse breed excels in virtually every equine discipline, and they are equally at home in the show ring and on the roughest back country trails.

The paso fino is a mixture of the Andalusian breed and the Barb Spanish Jennet. This breed was used by land owners in Colombia and Puerto Rico in their plantations.
The paso fino has a slightly sloping croup with rounded hips and strong hocks, and he carries his tail gracefully while in motion. The gaits of the paso fino are exceptionally smooth and easy to ride, and the Peruvian paso tends to have a disposition which as at once spirited and gentle.
The head of the paso fino has a look of refinement, with eyes that are both large and well spaced, and that provide an expressive and alert demeanor. The ears are short, close set and curve inward, providing for an alert and intelligent look.
